Extensive IPAF MEWPs For Managers Training Courses
The Work at Height Regulations, introduced in April 2005 places a clear duty on employers to ensure that all work at height is properly planned. This includes a thorough assessment of the risks involved, and selection of suitable equipment. It also requires that if you plan or supervise work at height, you must be competent to do so.
If your organisation uses MEWPs, then you need to know what your management responsibilities are – and what your legal responsibilities are.
This course covers what you, as a Manager or Supervisor need to know about the safe use of MEWPs on site, from planning the job and conducting a risk assessment, to selecting the right equipment and mitigating all possible risks.
Unlike the Operator courses, this training is NOT category-specific.

The IPAF MEWPs for Managers training is a one day course (typically 8.30am to 4.30pm).
All courses held at our training centres include your IPAF registration fee, and all handouts. In addition, we provide free hot and cold drinks, a quality lunch, and free parking.
This course is about planning, supervising and managing the use of MEWPs, and not about operating equipment. It ends with a written test that you must pass.
Upon successful completion of the theory test, you will receive an IPAF certificate.
If you hold a valid Powered Access Licence for operating equipment, you can also have the MEWPs for Managers (MM) category added to your PAL Card.
You will need to bring your safety footwear; we will lend you any other PPE needed on the day.
This course is run in English. If you are attending this course you must be able to read and understand safety notices, course literature, test questions and answers, verbal instructions and manufacturer’s instruction manuals.
You should also be reasonably fit and in good health, with no uncorrected issues that are likely to endanger or hinder yourself, or anyone else at the training venue.
