  • implement all updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects your management role
  • implement new guidance and industry best practice
  • fulfil your duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment

Theory test consists of 25 multiple choice questions. Pass mark is 80%. There are 5 safety critical questions within the paper which have to be answered correctly in order to pass successfully.

Delegates successfully completing the course will be awarded a CITB Construction Skills Site Safety Plus Certificate, valid for 5 years.

Delegates will then need to undertake a refresher course prior to the expiry date on the certificate to obtain another five-year certificate.

Only those delegates who hold an existing Site Management certificate and can provide evidence before attending the course are eligible to attend the refresher course.

If no evidence of previous SMSTS certification can be found, you will have to attend the full Site Management Safety Scheme course. Your certificate must be within 6 months of expiry and not expired. If expired, you must attend the full SMSTS course.

For all SSP courses the default delivery method for certificates will now be digital, meaning hard copy certificates will not be sent.
