WHERE CAN I TRAIN?
IPAF itself does not provide training. Training Our training centres are regularly audited by IPAF to ensure the highest standard of training is delivered. IPAF’s MEWP operator course allows you to undertake the theory element of your training either as eLearning or in the classroom prior to your practical training and test. IPAF’s latest MEWPs for Managers course can be completed either in the classroom or by eLearning. Ask about our eLearning options when booking.
WHAT IS ELEARNING?
IPAF's eLearning provides a flexible and enhanced online learning experience for the mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) operator, MEWPs for Managers and MEWP Supervisor (North America only) training courses. It provides the same high-quality theory training as in the classroom and can be completed on a range of devices anytime, anywhere, at your own pace.

HOW LONG DOES IPAF TRAINING TAKE?
Depending on the training, courses generally last one to two days and are a mixture of theory (unless eLearning has been completed beforehand) and practical with a written and a practical test. See the MEWP, MCWP and Construction Hoist courses page for more details.
DO I GET A PAL CARD?
The majority of IPAF MEWP, MCWP and Construction Hoist courses, if passed, will qualify you for a Powered Access Licence (PAL Card), which is globally recognised and proof that you have been trained to the highest standard. Your PAL Card lasts for five years (dependent on your country/regions regulations).
Since June 2021, all UK & Ireland PAL Cards are issued digitally and accessed via ePAL, IPAF’s free mobile phone app. (Printed PAL Cards are still available if required.)
Delegates should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights, vertigo, giddiness, difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.
